Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
