Former Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities report that a former doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
